Nathan Doak

Scrum Half

Biography

A versatile young player with a bright present and future for Ulster. Scrum-half, Nathan Doak is from Lisburn and made his senior debut against Munster in December 2020 – 11 years to the day since he ran out as a mascot against the same opposition. The youngster played an important role in getting Wallace High School into the Danske Bank Schools’ Cup Final in 2020, before the onset of COVID-19 resulted in the cancellation of the match. Doak also made his presence felt in Ulster ‘A’ games during the 2020-21 season before featuring again for the senior team during the Guinness PRO14 Rainbow Cup. He has since become a regular in Ulster match-day squads. Ulster head coach Dan McFarland has been impressed by his maturity for his age and has shown no hesitation in starting Doak against top opposition in the URC and Heineken Champions Cup. Doak's kicking, whether to gain territory or to score conversions, is a strong point of his game and is something he is always practising.
